Hi All,
I recently purchased a WSPC series Seagull. It dates to August 1977. It has a Steel petrol tank. I thought it should have a Brass Tank!. The motor is in very good origonal condition, and seems to have been well looked after. There are no decals on the Tank, and I cant see the remains of any. I wonder if the Tank may of been replaced at some time. I dont want to restore (repaint)a steel tank if its not the correct one.
Thanks in advance
Mark

In the late 70s i purchased a Seagull with a steel tank. First thing i did was remove it & fit a new brass tank. Reason steel tanks rust. Hence all my Seagulls have brass tanks.

There is always the plastic tank if you need the larger capacity which the 4.5 L steel tank offers.
I have a 1971 and a 1977 Silver Century both appear to be very low hrs. motors and both came with black steel 4.5L tanks with the proper decals.

Hi All,
Thanks for your replies. If it came with a steel tank, then I will leave it alone, as it looks to be very good, with only minimal corrosion inside. There are no dents, which is a bonus.
Cheers,
Mark
