OA Longshaft
my new addition - lucky find its been stored in a barn for nearly 50 years, when i got her she looked pretty sad and i thought she would only be suitable for spares.
When i started messing about with her i got a spark (and an electric shock) so i decided to see if i could bring her back to life.
here are some pictures of what she looked like when i got her and the start of her journey, but now she is in bits
more pictures to follow ..............

Re: OA Longshaft
Interesting and very challenging project
It will be good to learn about the ups and downs of these engines. I get ear ache for using the kitchen sink for rubbing down tanks. However I did get away with rebuilding a power head on the dining table last winter during a cold spell

Re: OA Longshaft
i might be pushing my luck a bit as i have also rubbed down tanks in the kitchen sink, put tanks in the oven, even sprayed them in the kitchen as well as rebuild bits on the kitchen table.

I think I would not get away with spraying paint in the current Mrs. Oysters new kitchen. It might we worth a try as a wind wind up..
How did you find this engine? Was it a "Back of a dusty barn" find? That's really cool.

Re: OA Longshaft

Yes, I'm sure there will be much interest in seeing the restoration of this engine, good of you to share. I'm after a prewar engine myself, as and when one comes up.
