I am in the process of putting a SD together, which I shall probably sell, as I am thinning out my colection of motors a little.
The serial number is SD9965.L4 The magneto JM number is JM12421. Is this likely to be the original magneto? It is an alloy magneto cover.
The engine number would indicate circa 1945, but I'm not familiar with the sequence of the JM numbers. I do know a couple of gentlemen who are though..

Re: JM numbers
That's a very late SD, with what looks like the correct JM number.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Re: JM numbers
I wouldn't say that's 100%, 67 years is a liftime for possible fixes & repairs, but it sounds correct, 95% certain.
