Elto Ace

I have a 1937 Elto Ace. It came covered in that silver spray paint that I so adore, and a couple of years ago I stripped it lovingly. Apart from a damaged water pump housing it looked pretty much OK, and I reassembled the thing with lots of oils but without an all-important gasket.

I've now fitted that gasket and discover I have no spark, nothing at all.

Is there anywhere I can get a replacement coil?

That's the square ended coil, high and low mount each end, can you not grind down the ends of an appropriate length Villiers type coil to fit.
With little chance of getting an original, you will have to make something up.
In the same boat so to speak with my Elto twin.

Didn't think of that, Keith. Thanks.

Tomorrow I may venture out to the workshop to have a look.

Coils

Eternal problem that series, I have seven perfect runners with that magneto style, not just Ace but other models and years with same setup.

"Perfect waiting", as no spark between them.
