In line resistor on HT lead.

What is the purpose of the resistor in the HT lead and what are the benefits? Which motors have one?

Lots of them have them, more on the newer models, they are to reduce interference, so you can listen to radio four while having a lazy run down the river with your Seagull.
Not that you can hear much when you do run one.
