Coming along nicely!

Best thing is that from spare parts motor means that you have to use "The Best Parts" and what is left can be cleared out Aye'

So far the thing has new rings and a NOS muffler box but that is it! Just good bits from maybe seven or eight "Donors"

Just did the carb today out of maybe 6 Amals from a large bucket of bits. It has bits from Olympic, Seagull , BMB and Riptide but has correct jets and slide number.

Note that it is a top feed bowl.

I even had to solder clips to a float for retaining the needle. (Needle is Olympic and has four locating cut outs for height). I have restored and complete carbs but this is not the aim of this buildup.

Gearbox with "Runny Grease" is all set and will be fitted this weekend. Then throttle cable and run it.

Ran the power head today and very cool! 3 years later it runs!

It had minimal comps when I first fired it up and I experimented with float needle heights as I had to solder a float (Clip).

Ended up with Olympic needle on 5th position to stop the main jet from bleeding off before the throttle slide cut out was finished doing its thing.

I set it up on a trolley as in the vid and idled it at 550 rpm for an hour while varying the water supply to change block and head temps from minimum 45C to maximum 80C at the end.

I kid you not! This is the 1st hour compression reading! (I am going to upgrade the head gasket).

It is just about to rain outside so I will move everything inside and fit the gearbox for next week.

Anyway, Here is the end of an hours idle.

I am using a short rope to start it as very hard to pull over cleanly with the proper/pully diameter length. I am using a Featherweight cord...................one compression per pull so rope does not get caught up in flywheel.

Just about ready to "Make A Wake"!

Tiller, shorten new Amal cable, proper tank mounts, choke assy and shear Pin for finish it off.
and transom screw disks!

Like that Keith!

The prop is a very snug fit into the housing for the eventual "Suck" part of the process. I think, but can not be sure, that this prop was the original for this box case. I just selected best bits from the heap of partings. The case does have the original shafts and gears but. Runny grease does not want to come out so hopefully water does not want to "Get In" later, not that really matters. I like to keep my Dears ship shape after a thrashing.

Next item is a hose attachment/sealed clamp thingy to make it possible to provide cooling without one of these actually mobile in the water and running on a stand etc. Prop off of course as nasty cutter of death and water splasher etc.

Should be easy to make a pattern and I will post a design dwg after I get it right, Flusher attachment that is.
