What is the maximum engine rpm of a century plus motor and a Kingfisher one? Thanks

Robbo this is a "how long is a piece of string" question, if you explain what you really want to know & why, I'm sure you'll get a sensible answer.

There are 2 technical sheets reproduced on the main SOS website. For the Silver Century plus one says 4500RPM, the other says 3200-4000 RPM. No idea about the Kingfisher though.

I imagine that the general condition of the engine, accuracy of fuel mix etc. have a direct bearing on max RPM. Some of the racing chaps on this forum fit a small portable rev counter & play around with carb jets and needle heights to get the best tune.

Thanks lads. I was figuring that peak rpm would be an indication of how well (or not) the engine was set up. E.g. if it's only pulling 2500 I need to be taking a look.

The plan is to put it on a small light motor dinghy for running up and down the Tyne but eventually run something like a Bermudan longboat.
