I wondered if anyone knows the length and gauge of screw that secures the spring and lead in the HT lead. (The end the lead that fits in the magneto) Its very small! Does anyone know where I can get half a dozen. Are they bronze or brass?

Hi Chris, thank you for replying. Yes it is for the Wipac ignition. I have in the past taken the screw out to replace the lead but the screw (I think its a woodscrew) is very, very small so I wanted to a get some replacements. I'm in Kendal in Cumbria. I look forward to hearing from you. Robert

just went to look at mine and from what i can see it looks like a 3/4" x 4 brass wood screw. Old style with the good old slotted head and the tempremental single tread. Dont worry to much about the lenth just cut down and file whatever you can get :P

Hi the screw size is 3/4" x 2 brass wood screw.

Might be hard to find, will have a look at my old mans house when I next go round there.
He has loads of little boxes of wood screws. All of mine are too short.

Admittedly the screw in mine is a little warn around the head but the shank still makes mine a 4 rather than a 2. But who cares as long as Timer gets his motor going! :D

It would be great if you could - they are really tiny and I do like to replace the lead every now and then. Thank you. Robert
