Multispark Units?

Hi, since my garage is too damned cold to work in today I've been utilising my time browsing for gull related bits and bobs and came across a unit that you apparently can inset into your plug lead that "SPLITS THE PULSE AND GIVES 5 SPARKS INSTEAD OF 1 TO GIVE A LONGER BURN". Has anyone out there any knowledge of this sort of device and whether it really does "USE UP THE WASTED VAPOUR THAT IS NOT ALWAYS BURNT, THIS WILL GIVE YOU MORE POWER EASIER STARTING ANY BETTER MPG FIGURES, WORKS GREAT ON ANY 4 STROKE MACHINES" and "STOPS PLUGS FOWLING ON 2 STROKE MACHINES"

The 'fowling' confuses me since I always keep my chickens and geese well away from my garage that houses my gulls. Of course, fowl do foul as well but I guess plugs fouling is much less messy!

Anyway, this device which retails at a tenner sounds like it might be just help cantankerous old two-strokes behave more sweetly.

Has anyone with an electrical background any opinions on these?

The first one I ever saw would have been in the 1970's. Usually pushed at trade shows & the like. Many different makers came & went. Lots of heavy marketing & fabulous claims & showy demos designed to take advantage of peoples gullibility & ignorance. There was another marketing push around the 1980's here in NZ when alot of vehicles were converted to methane or propane

They can hide weaknesses in poorly tuned / maintained ignition systems. Generally speaking, If your Ignition is well maintained & tuned, then, there's no benefit to be had

There is a saying at the bike track. "When the flag drops, the B/S stops". Translation = They didn't make the bikes go any better

Don't see them so much nowdays
