				Hello Gaffers,
I have one which I stupidly mistook on ebay for a 102 barge pusher. I don't need it and it is in the way. The blades have a few scuffs and scrapes which I will polish out for you. So the prop will just need a lick of paint perhaps. Cast into the blade next to the spring slot are the letters "CLW"
Open to modest "between enthusiasts" offers, plus postage. Drop me a PM if you are interested. Alternatively if you have any interesting 102 or SD parts we can do a swap.
Cheers,
A.

				That's not for a 110/90, it's for a non-reversing model.
Sadly I can't laymy hands on a picture of the right one, perhaps someone else will have on?
It uses a different spring, too...

The vendor has got it wrong, that is a model 75 or Curlew prop.
So it's a "4hp" prop for a 2 1/2 : 1 gearbox.
Century 100 boxes were 3 1/2 or 4 : 1.

				Oyster,
The prop you have is for the Silver Century plus, Clutch drive. It is the later semi weedless one.
Hope that helps,
Regards,
John

Is it possible to grind a slot on the other side to fit the reversing spring type? I'm assuming EFNR props are scarce.

				Hello Hugz,
The EFNR props are not scarce, have several used ones here £25.00 a time, the drive spring is inside the rear of the prop and locates on one of two large lugs, (the other one is to balance the prop!). Spring is held on special carrier on propshaft.

John

Which is best for silver century with clutch - 4 blade 8" weedless or 9" 5 blade hydrofan?

Always need the engine number to answer the right question.

Most outboards in the Seagull range have only one prop size and shape associated with them.
The Silver Century plus was an exception and had the option of the hydrofan or in later years the semi weedless.
If you look at all the props and gearboxes it is not hard to see why say a FP gearbox could not take a F prop, and of course vice versa.
The hub diameters and shaft lengths make it wrong to mix them on others, they just don't fit, and why would you, Seagull designed the motors for a job, to push heavily loaded boats at their hull speed, they then designed a prop to match the motor.
The Century and FP share the same gearbox, so you can swap their props, but the Century prop on an FP makes it struggle, and the other way round an FP prop on a Century cavitates! Not good.
Tests by Seagull revealed the Hydrofan was marginally more powerful than the alternative 4 blade semi weedless, when fitted to the Silver Century plus, so if thrust is what you need, use the Hydrofan, if for throwing bits of weed off, or as it is a 'semi', half off, go for the semi weedless.
Having used my EFPC with the standard semi weedless on a canal a year or so back, I would call them weed magnet props! No Seagull prop is weedless!!
Regards
John
