Banjo fixing screw on Bing carb on a Forty Plus

Hi!
Last week the screw that holds the fuel filter banjo onto the carb came loose and fuel leaked out (Bing carb on a GFP). When I went to retighten the screw I was unable to do so, as it appears that the thread on the carb has gone.
I assume that the best thing would be to retap with a larger thread - other ideas would be welcome. Would a coarse or fine thread be best - or does it not really matter here?
Before I do that, I would like to know what thread this fixing screw should be, just incase the previous owner has fitted the wrong screw. Any information would be very welcome, thank you.
Cheers, John
