It will be cold, possibly wet, and if you don't suit fishnets it might not be for you . . .

It's gone very quiet on the subject of the Lerryn Race,
is it only HA & RBT from our group, that are hard enough to risk getting cold & wet on the 29th?

It is looking like there may be snow, at least enroute.

Might need to take one of the Land Rovers rather than the surf bus.

Mother in law is also coming, any thing for a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie  .

Looking forward to it, you never know I might get a pint of Doom Bar this year. :D

We will be entering the over 12 foot class and the under 12 foot class, If any one wants to join our motley crew then we will be able to go for the team prize as well ( three boats in two or more classes).

P.M me if you want to make up the team.

I am planning to leave deepest outer west London at about 6.00 pm on Christmas day.( dry day, got to drive :( )

Sisters for lunch, eat and run. "Have got to go to the current best Seagull race in the U.K."

Will be testing on the river Fowey from Boxingday morning, need to tune raised transom.

My less old Landy should be OK, surf bus is a bit easier as it has loads more space. But dont want to be caught out by a couple of inches of snow.

Will see you there Andy, sad bit is we are driving back on the 29th

( Have just got my laptop running off my mobile phoes modem, bit slow but it works. losing your internet access in deepest Cornwall is like having your arm cut off. You do not realise how much we rely on computers nowadays.)

Looks like Wednesday will be the best day of the week.

10 or 11 degrees C little bit of sun if we are lucky.

Even today (Monday) it is 10 degrees C warmer than yesterday.

Sounds like a bit of fun is on the cards. We won't complain if one or all of you guys hit us with some pics. Sadly it was too far for us northern boys to travel. I did have the idea of bringing the wife for a wee break, and spectate, but the flu has struck us.
Good luck to those participating, "may the best man win"!

Hi Guys,
I'm new to the forum but have had a couple of seagulls since my days as a penniless student. I'm going to the Lerryn race tomorrow with my newly refurbished speed machine but i need 2 bolts and a gasket for my gearbox front cover before i can use my engine! Does anyone have a some who is going to lerryn? And how will i know its you when i get there? Actually it may be good to give me a call if you can help out as i'm not near a computer today: 07816 591 034

Any help much appreciated, now i'm off to purchase mulling spices, tin foil and sellotape.......

cheers,

Rich, Plymouth

A comparison of the distance from east Essex/Kent to SE Cornwall with that to the reconstructed nation of the Brave Heart territory would suggest that the probability of an appearance from SOS is limited ; about as much hope as a contingency arriving down there from Harris ............get the engineers blue and empty Kloggies carton out ...........and use scissors with flair. Check my previous posts. Check pinion to crown mesh afterwards............
