I had a look at this odd prop, shear pin type.
Did Seagull do a shearpin prop?
Almost bid but then realised it is the wrong hand, wrong rotation.
Or have I got it wrong?

H.A. you are such a worry to me -
The prop is a right hand. its straight trailing edge is on the left. Unless my poor elderly eyes are completely failing.
And you know Seagulls do not use propellers, as far back as I have seen, with that fixing.
I think the clue is in the '?? dunno'
- and it appears to have about zero pitch
IMHO . . .
Anyway - I might have a bid on one of his other items . . . .

This prop is Left handed, and therefore not much use on a seagull DUNNO might be wrong.
I think the 5R had a shear pin, I was not sure if there were any others.

P.S. these are right handed I think

No Seagulls ever had a left handed prop to the best of my knowledge.
The 5R had a splined prop
All of the Marstons, 125, 170, Kingfisher & Osprey used a pin instead of a spring too transfer the drive, though the 170, Kingfisher & Osprey used a spring as well.

Which is why I left it alone after initial excitement as a spare.........
question now comes as to what it is from.................

ps Just think, this is yet another item when we could all have competed on! And as I said before I didn't bid the ON! Just spotted it!

170 propeller aprox 10.5"
Now I'm not arguementative, but which of those Marstons, 125, 170, Kingfisher & Osprey props are ' about 7" ' ?
ps I could be wrong about the rotation - it's very shallow pitch and camera angle in fact makes the leading
and trailing edges appear to be curling up to the camera . . .
