If you're in the South of England, maybe you'd like to drop in to the 'Bygone Days' show, at Ibsley Aerodrome near Fordingbridge.

Andy and myself will be manning a 'Seagull' stand, where we will have on display a number of outboards, mainly from Andy's extensive collection.

There will be his magnificent OF - a lovely example of this very scarce Marston with forward-neutral-reverse gears.

There will be an OA - the one that started it all.

There'll be an OJ - most people have never even seen a picture of one of those.

There'll be a DON = one of the first batches of motors to have the famous Seagull propellor spring.

There'll be an SD, lots of shiny bits.

And there will be a couple of 'Little Model Forties'

Together with an assortment of other fascinating pieces of outboard history, there's bound to be something for all tastes!

Most of all there'll be a warm welcome to our friends from the Seagull community. It's open from about ten, and it's on Saturday and Sunday - tomorrow and the day after in fact.

Hope to see you there...

What a great show....

....we're having.

They've plonked us in among the stationary engines, so I'm a little deaf.

We have, (apart from the OF OJ ON SD FV etc) :

Anzanis
Johnsons (earliest 1925)
Sea Bees
Evinrude
Atco

There's a lot to see, vintage aircraft flypasts, Motor Bikes, Military Vehicles, Vintage cars, even a display of boots and shoes (yes really).

Open tomorrow at Ibsley Aerodrome, from 10.30

Hope to see you there...

Well, thanks to everyone who dropped in.

We've had a great weekend, good weather, lots to interest us and we've made a few contacts, found a few bits, and given our names and numbers to lots of people.

We had fun yesterday firing up Andy's Atco Boat Impeller, which attracted lots of attention. Naturally being Andy's it started immediately, but being an Atco it was rather too quiet, barely heard amid the vast collection of stationary engines that were thumping away all around us.

So today we started up my SD - or rather Andy did. He's a whizz with ignition systems, and my initial attempts to start her (rather thrown together for the weekend) were embarrassed by the lack of jets and float in the carburettor. (Honest I thought I'd brought the right one). But with a truckload (literally) of Seagulls from which we could 'rob' spares she was soon going, and her distinctive note could at last be heard over the Petters and Listers.

Andy's Military Johnson twin from 1943 was a popular draw, and of course numerous Seagull owners past and present were interested in the OF - in fact it's just possible that another one of these rarities may be forthcoming after this weekend.

All in all we've enjoyed ourselves, I'll post a couple of pix to John and see if he'd like to put them on the site.
