Bing Carb

Post by Mark »

Hi, I have been given a 40plus with a bing carb. The engine runs fine but the bing carb does leak a little at the join of the plastic float chamber cover with the body of the carb. I note there is no gasket - is a little seapage with vibration ok, or should it be absolutely free of any leak? If so, any hints or tips as to how to improve the 'seal'?

I have exactly the same problem, so would be interested in replies from the experts! In the meantime, I've put a little bit of grease round the rim of the plastic float bowl, which seems to help.
