Saving Old Seagulls

Just finished servicing my 40 Plus Seagull with Villiers Carb starts from cold 2nd pull and runs very sweetly pumping water well.
I have noticed a small black oily deposit running down the exhaust leg from the block after it has warmed up as if it is getting rid of carbon deposits after years of being laid up. I do stress it is running very sweetly fuel/oil mix is 10/1 and I am just wondering if someone could shed some light on a possible problem, Where could the oil be coming from and why?

This is a two stroke motor running on a high oil to petrol ratio. Perfectly normal to see dirty oil residues seeping out at both the top and bottom of the exhaust tube after use... see Slugwash's post on this today. This mess is a mixture of combustion products and unburnt oil. Most of it is expelled straight out with the exhaust gasses. Some is depsoited on the walls of the exhaust and leaks out at the exhaust joints. None of the joints are remotely oil or gas tight!
