I cannot identify

Post by polilara »

Hello

I am new here, Nice sites. I live in Finland.

I bought early eighties a (used) British Seagull. Now I need split down figures perhaps spares etc.

As known crank box is made of two pieces. One have letters SD and the other has AC28838.

Below the crank box there is also a code

L 1281 A

I am not sure about the L.

Engine looks like 102 Series like the one owned by Charles Palfreeman. It has clutch and prop with two wings.
Do you have owners manual part lists/figures available.

I need e.g. the water pump propeller which I broke. Also the lowest box (in which the gear and clutch is located) is needed If i cannot get it repaired.

The AC 28838 is the serial number. It should be quoted when you are looking for parts. Many of the parts are still available. One excellent parts supplier is John Williams, whose website Saving Old Seagulls hosts this forum. He will likely have what you need including the model 102 parts book you are looking for. The serial number indicates an approximate date of manufacture. The website mentioned above has a list of serial numbers under the heading " ID your Seagull". I have an AC model from the last year of the AC model production 1956, it has a serial number of AC43843. The first year of production for the AC model was 1946, I believe.

Look on the main SOS site on the ID your Seagull section, your engine number would make it 1952.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
