The 102 plus has always struck me as one of the most impressive Seagull motors with its massive gearbox and 13”prop though I imagine that due to their large size they were limited in their appeal.
They seem to rarely get mentioned in this forum and I was wondering how many still survive and indeed how many are still actually used?

This must be the best barge Seagull combination :D

I think Kubota inboard is the best option for a barge.

OK then...

I have to admit to a weakness for these monsters. They do certainly move stuff. Slowly, but definitely.

My WHCL 71RA was the only Seagull left to propel my boat after tech probs with the proposed engine in the last Lerryn Seagull race.

I came in last . . .

Well,

My THC isn't that slow, about the same as a normal 102, but with more push and to reach the same speed you need more revs.

Once, I pushed a 20ton barge, not fast, but she did!

My THC is the Seagull I like most, but for normal use on my Drascombe I use my AC, much lighter! Our Drascombe is named Seagull (of course).

My THC, I use a few times a year only on our heavy steel boat while tugging the boat of our 5 year old daughter. I am now renovating a forty minus for her...
