Century or Silver
with an I.D. LLSL 684 E4 my new?engine should be a Century 100 May 1964.However on the block is British Silver Seagull and it has a clutch fitted.this should make it CPC according to the manual, or is it a Silver? My reason to query is can I modify the Amal 2jet to 25:1 without risk to the bearings?if the I>D.is not accurate
Re: Century or Silver
Hello Alan,
sadly a common story. I suspect the crankcase and bearings will be 1964, the rest, block, carb, drive leg and gearbox with clutch a later model, or different mode.
Gives an extra hp and a clutch, but I suspect you might have problems if you tried to run on 25:1 as the bearings are shorter and need the extra oil to seal. stick to 10:1 and enjoy the clutch and extra hp!
