Amal carb

Hello all,
during a recent sort out of the garage/workshop I came across 5 old amal carb bodies. Unfortunately all of them have ruined threads where the float bowl attaches. I've been told that the thread is 3/8 BSP so I need to know if this is correct and if it's possible to get some sort of helicoil repair kit in this size.
