prop stuck.
having problems removing 5 blade prop from a silver century + clutch long shaft, have tried soaking it in penatrating fluid for a day have filed the shaft and used emery cloth to remove any burrs.tried using wedges between prop body and gearbox, was thinking of using a 2 or 3 leg puller but because of the 5 blades it does not seem possible to fit the puller.any ideas chaps?

I have done this twice with success both times.
Remove gearbox from rest of motor, make sure spring end of shaft is clean and free of burrs all the way down to the prop.
Put slotted end of shaft in battery drill chuck and spin shaft up with drill whilst holding onto prop and gearbox (input shaft of gearbox will also turn when you do this). This will free the prop on the shaft, and as long as it is burr free and well lubricated I found that the prop would travel up the shaft whilst the shaft was being turned.
When you get the prop off as far as the slot it will just pull off by hand.
It is vital that the propshaft is free of burrs, look at it under good light with a lens to make sure.
I would not try a puller because the slotted end of the shaft distorts quite easily, and the prop is quite brittle.
Good luck

You could bet your life, it you put this on the back of a boat it would fall off as soon as you throttled back.
Drill a 1/2 inch hole in a copper coin & see if that will slide over the slot, squeeze until it does.
Will the prop rotate on the shaft, if the answers no, run it in the water butt without the spring, it should rotate on the shaft quite soon, when it does it should unscrew off provided the coin will go on.

siezed prop
update....prop now off,
what i did was to lay the engine on the floor with the prop facing up then i used 2 pieces of wood to choc up the prop then used a hammer and another piece of wood to tap down the shaft,i also tried the tip of drilling a 1/2" hole in a 2p piece to hold the slot in the shaft together.on examination of the shaft after prop had been removed, found it had a score line around its diameter.have used some fine emery to clean up the shaft.thanks to all that replied with suggestions.
