If it fits the bore with an appropriate gap and the section is the same (you did save the fragments?) you should be fine. You'd be surprised what the stationary engine folk use rings from to fix their treasures . . .

Have fitted Century rings to 102's with no problems.
Save those old bits of ring, as they are ideal to clean the ring grooves out with.

I've just been chatting to the other Charles. Whilst neither of us has actually swapped one with the other, we reckon it should be OK, so long as you check the gap and the dimensions - as per the earlier suggestion.
Of course - you're not far from B.S. are you? Mybe (just maybe) they have some in stock, or of course John may have a couple. He does tend to be able to supply some older components whereas Sheridan Marine confine themselves to new stuff.

I've got 400+ NOS SD 'Piston Rings' from a former MOD warehouse. Also 250+ P/N 1300 SD Base Joint Gaskets, SD Gudgeon Pins (type with aluminium caps) etc, etc, etc.
I'll sell or swop for other Seagull parts to complete or restore my collection.
Regards, Jan

Very interesting website and certainly looks the place to go for engine related specialist rebuilds but no mention of ring sales. But they would most likely know a man who does...
Seems Coventry Boring and Metalling Ltd are part of J H Richards, who do white metal and other bearings

as always, a million thanks to all the experts for the tips
Saint Jackie <<all hail and bow>> @ British Seagull / Sheridan Marine ...conveniently 4 miles away, reckons the 102 type ring is the same throughout
I shall take my 'survivor' and match them up and report back in due course

Please, help me to get rid of my huge stock of NOS Seagull parts,
I invested all my savings in an Iceland Bank and damned Seagull parts.
New Old Stock Piston Rings for €1 each and one hundred Rings for €50.
I'm not a trader and will sell my surplus parts for fair prices to other BS enthusiasts.
Help me get through the winter.

Perhaps you could give us an inventory of what you have. I'm sure this would be the best place to unload your parts.
Hugo.

If you really have just bought Iceland tell the b***ers to give my pension money back!
It was a mere 24 hours after explaining to current primary woman that my pension was 'near as dammit bullet proof' that I learned the idiots at the County Council had £27 million in Iceland.
They really should sack that Kerry Katona now.
How on earth am I going to afford to keep my flock?
