Oh, all right you guys are Occupation, Health and Safety fiends. PPE as required. I suppose next you will require steel capped high heels and gloves.
When is a Seagull calender coming out? I'm sure we can do better than the Pirelli one.
Having a nice cup of tea here! A pint of camomile....
I remember that motor Bruce. It would have melded well with the first SD on this thread.

Calender options
Jan = spanners
Feb = lubrication
March = Refueling
April = Something way over the Top
May = Welding (I like the last one)
June = Pulling it over 
July = Replacing drive spring
August = Polishing
September = Bailing the boat (Could be a bit risky this one)
October = Ignition
November = Carby
December = Christmas Seagull Fairy bearing consumables.
Calender templates are in Microsoft publisher.
Maybe everyone should provide interesting such as this pics for someone to make up a calender available to all via Email on completion.

interesting thread about "nipples" (human or mechanical
)
what do you make of these then?
from top to bottom SDP, SD (both sides of the box and brass exhaust) and C.
does that make this SD one of those 10% unusual ones?

There needs to be an in depth study into this nipple business. It appears from a limited data base including a few of mine as well that all straight out exhaust water pump housings has the nipple on the port side. The gearbox can be either. An early SD #125 has nipples on starboard side and a late SD #9242 are on port side. Does this tie in with other observations? I do feel that your SDP has replacement silver nipples. Reminds me of one of Oyster's motors.

SDP came from niander (have a look on his u tube channel it's on there)
SD came from a chap in liverpool.
C has so far been assembled from spare parts.
all the other SD type gearboxes i have, their appendages are on the port side!
more research into this "nipple nonsense" should carry on forthwith.
what say you!
