does that make this SD one of those 10% unusual ones?
There needs to be an in depth study into this nipple business. It appears from a limited data base including a few of mine as well that all straight out exhaust water pump housings has the nipple on the port side. The gearbox can be either. An early SD #125 has nipples on starboard side and a late SD #9242 are on port side. Does this tie in with other observations? I do feel that your SDP has replacement silver nipples. Reminds me of one of Oyster's motors.
SDP came from niander (have a look on his u tube channel it's on there)
SD came from a chap in liverpool.
C has so far been assembled from spare parts.
all the other SD type gearboxes i have, their appendages are on the port side!
more research into this "nipple nonsense" should carry on forthwith.
