Well I'm home unpacking the gear ,formulating the plan for next year ~ I made it !!!! down a very boney river , pushing tide for the last 7 miles in the hot sun after 3 nights with next to no sleep. SECOND !!! to a record holder and one of the professional seagull tinkerers in the field . The bling tank and refuelling line went great. Wow what a trip , what a personal adventure . I've got lots to tell . took a number of photos .and look forward in the next week or two to share them with you .

Cam took out the modified ~ he and his father spent a lot of time sorting his boat ,only to change seating position mid race to find some more speed .

My good mate Andy performed well, not up to his or my exceptions to be fair , he changed gear boxes after the first day ,having replaced a plug mid race, but what caused him the most pain was putting his hands in his pockets for the wager on our daily elapsed time .
A Third place in the New Bermudan Class behind race organiser John Crichton and the flying Fleetwood ( sister ship to Andys boat) was some consolation, but not the ultimate prize he is aiming for .His boat is so photogenic it's hard to miss , but I'll come back to that later on .

In standard dingy class there were a few boats faster than me , but as the old racing adage says, to finish first , first you must finish . the guy that did was Graham Keegan of Simply Seagulls and at one point I passed him after he had hit a rock , his skill and out right boat speed meant he was able to make repairs and repass on day one , never to be seen again . Well done
