Well my donor motor has arrived and strangely enough the leg doesn't belong to this motor in fact the one I'm taking off the SD is close to the correct one
This motor is a D (1946) I'm assuming this the first lot of long water jacketed motors. Probably quite rare.

Howzat!! SD's.. I have a long shaft naval. Short shaft Naval. Long shaft Army. Short shaft Army. What are the chances of that?
Yay, scored a brass skeletal bracket, bonus! The tank is almost dingless. I can only put 5 pictures in so will put in bracket in next post.

Brass transom bracket. The motor hangs on with two hooks and then a bolt stops it jumping off. Even the lock at the bottom is intact.

An 18mm KLG ML 30 sparkplug that comes apart. I have a fetish for them. From Wiki "Kenelm Edward Lee Guinness MBE (14 August 1887 - 10 April 1937) was an Irish-born racing driver of the 1910s and 1920s. He set a new Land Speed Record in 1922. Also an automotive engineer, he invented and manufactured the KLG spark plug. A member of the Guinness brewing family, and a director of the company, he lived and died in Putney Vale, and was buried at the nearby cemetery, bordering Putney Heath." Maybe I should have Guinness to celebrate.

The leg is correct. I mean it's the same type with those used on SDs. The differences are that on SDs the exhaust is unplatted brass, the drive shaft housing is zinc plated and the prop of course. The villiers carb is quite innovative!! What are you planning to do?

Indeed. You are learning well young lad... Hey, how are the SD fuel lines coming along? I need a few. Actually the SD's have the nipples on the port side and these are on starboard side. There is only probably only ten or less of us that know

Only about 10% of SD's had brass exhaust tubes, the rest had chrome that might well have been green or grey painted.

Must admit everyone seems to collect the copper tops. Rather glad I have a couple of the others. They are becoming rather scarce.

Don't be embarrassed Hugo, your prop is not a century type, it's a model 102 later one.
And yes I will agree with Bruce, add some leather to the welder!
