1. Using blu-tack I made a mold of the cable end (lever end)

2. I filled the well with melted lead solder and also tinned the end of the cut cable. (tinned means cleaning end of cable with flux and applying solder and then wiping off with wet rag, inspecting to make sure solder has pregnated cable)

3. Heating solder in well with electric soldering iron I placed cable into the well whilst apply heat.

4. After cooling..... finished product.

I did have to do it three times to get the length perfect. The end fitted in lever with no filing required.
