It wasn't until my early twenties, that I got into cars, I had the odd old classic as you would call them, or rust buckets as I remember them.

My uncle had a MK2 cortina 1600e in purple with a black vinyl roof. That was pretty cool back then.

Engine support lug is what it is called in the parts list.
Hope all goes well with it - it doesn't look like its been messed around with.
Ref the car - I support Adrian in respect of a Triumph. I had a 2.5 fuel injection model. Is it one of those?
Mine with a reg number GOB... was referred to as Gobble - because that is what it did to fuel! Great performance though and with its 6 speed box a great drive.

The car was nothing special, just the first of many, Yes it was a Triumph dolomite 1500, but the dash and other parts were out of a sprint, including the alloys, I even put a set of twin side draft Webber's on it, life an learn.

Yep, a dolly.
I remember them well.
Similar steering wheel to the Stag i recall. Now they were something a bit special back in the day, even if they did have a habit of overheating.
I do still have a fondness for the old fords though. Just before we moved over to the southwest i had to sell my beloved MK1 fiesta XR2. Remember them? Proper little pocket rocket for its day.
I was offered a mid 90's RS1800 mk3 fiesta a while back. Not many of them left now and going up in value all the time.
I wish i'd kept my mk2 scort though. 1600 ghia 4 door auto (i know) in gold with a black vinyl roof and brown velour interior.Yummy
Not that pretty to look at on the inside, but the rest was MINT. A proper grandad's car with some real street cred today i bet.
