That was one of seven keith came home one night to see 5 sets of keys in an ashtray on the coffee table looking around there was only 2 people in the room me and her and it wasn't my lucky night they have to go says she that left 2 one each until she demanded a bigger car when number 6 child came alone then that was it. I still have a mk3 lying in mothers back yard never even seen it in the last 10 years (must check up on that some day ) 2.8 jps full body kit stripped rebuilt then parked and yes we do have paved roads in scotland (it depends on how far into the woods your prepard to travel) p.s don't tell me i should of left the wife and keep the cars she has 9 brothers with hoods and a transit van if you know what i mean. ...just waiting on the day she gets brave enough to enter the time capsule then all he'll will break loose. ...

I have always preferred the older cars and have always worked on them myself, never owned a Capri, my mum had one, I was only 16, I'm not as old as people think.
I have had some old bangers though, the Triumph Dolomite was my first car, Manta GTE was a rust bucket and I gave away my MK1 Golf GTI, among others.
I bet them wheels would be hard to find now. The modem jelly mould cars never appealed to me, thats why I liked and got a Cougar, full spec, heated screen, seats the lot, v6 2.5, I should have Kept it and put another box in it, just got a crappy BMW coupé now.

I did spot this one last year. Something to do with this bloke.

Ahhh memories

Around 27 years ago (before i was married) i used to own a MK2 2.0s JPS with what they called a "rocket box". (dog leg first gear) Nice old thing, not as pretty as Tam's magnificent machine.
I was more into MK2 escorts back in the day. At one point i had 6 of them. Going by todays prices i wished i'd have kept them all. The nicest one of the bunch was a late 1980 mk2 1600 ghia auto with all the bells and whistles.
Then i met my future wife and things went downhill from there Bless her (she loves me really)
It's a shame they don't make cars like this any more, dead easy to work on and fix, reliable to a point, only trouble is once the metal worm gets into them it's difficult to get rid of completely.
Some folks might say that it's a good job they don't make cars like this any more! These newer things on the road they call cars all look the same to me.
No character. No charm. Almost boringly reliable today

I'm currently working on my first car, a 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Wagon and quite annoyingly there is about 20 different plastic covers and panels you have to take off to get to the timing belt. They are secured with little plastic pins that you need 3 hands to remove, quite annoying to say the least.
