there was some consolidation between the firms that made Mallard and Puffin engines, with Coventry Apex, but I'm not sure how and when this happened. Mid to late sixties I suspect. I'm aware of identical engines branded as Puffin and Mallard. Keith is well aware of these
BMB were bought out by Brockhurst and the Britannia brand seemed to have slipped away by the late sixties, along with Ferrier.
I think British Anzani were making outboards into the seventies previously branded as Martin and then Perkins.
very little history seems to exist on any of these outfits though.
By the end of the seventies Seagull seemed to ploughing a lone furrow.
