There were plenty of extras made trouble is they have already been sold at a premium :shock:

Now come clean we are wanting to know what your up to! Might know where there's a block and exhaust but can't say :wink:

I doubt they made a lot of extras, Marston had a very "modern" production facility they even did time & motion studies on the component production, these included fettling time, sorry nothing on the cylinders.

The costs of machining a bare casting to a finished cylinder were considerable & putting 50 on the shelf might well have taken them out of the profit side of the line into the loss side, in their new outboard division.

And I can't belive British Seagull when they took over, would want to keep spares on the shelf that didn't fit any of their product range, more likley in the middle of a major resession they would assemble as many motors they could from the Marston spares holding, to get some money try to recoup some of their investment.
