Not to be confused with the civilian side mount shown bottom right here:

Bear with me guys, as I don't think the anaesthetic has worn off yet - certainly my head is still full of cotton wool - but just to check:
the items marked as '61' are presumably to hook under the gunwhale and hold the assembly hard down onto it? (which kinda suggests that this bracket is custom-made to fit a 'standard' gunwhale ?)
What purpose does item '56' (the one nearest to the gunwhale) serve - or is it just a spare top clamp thingy ?
Must say I do like this - would provide an easy solution to providing a reverse thrust function for early Seagulls.
Are there any more similar diagrams around to act as brain-fodder ?

looking at it, 61 pulls the mount tight down on to the gunwhale and 65 is to pull it in at the bottom tight against the hull.

The bracket is for a Mark III F.B.E. (Folding Boat Equipment) raft used by the Royal Engineers during WWII.
This topic started with an air intake for sale

Electrosys gets 10/10 for his answer.
Keith only 7/10 because it's 65 that pulls it in tight.

Does anybody have one of these fitted to an engine? It would be good to see one as nature intended

If you look at the boat on the left of this picture there is a fitting that looks very similar to the fitting we are talking about

The FBE was a canvas sided boat that telescoped up to about 2 foot 6 high it seems, that looks like pressed metal, aluminium?
Keep searching Oyster there must be some definative pictures somwhere.
I wonder if there are any to be found in the German records, they must have captured some & taken pictures, I doubt they were very impressed with our new secret weapon, when they were flying the ME 262.
Does anyone know what they were using for the same job?

We have a Me 262 engine in the heritage centre where I work, very advanced for its time

Not unlike the SD seagull
