Dear Double Dutch,
Whereabouts in the Nederlands are you?
I'm back in West Knollendam with a Seagull for my optimist (now known as Optimastic ) in September

Last week the boat has had her maiden voyage
Fully loaded with the SD Seagull and three adults, she performed very well.
Because of the heavy load, she feels a little unstable.
But she reached her hull speed without any problem.

Now that really the proper place for a SD. You should be proud of your achievement well done. :D
How many coats of varnish did you use ? 8)

Thanks gentlemen for your replies.
I used about 20 coats of Owatrol D1 for the hull and the floor boards.
The hull still needs some more coats.
Owatrol is easy to maintain, just a wet rag of Owatrol oil every season.
For the seats I used Epifanes Hardhoutolie about 8 coats, the disadvantage is that it is slippery when wet.
The SD performed very well.
Friends could hear, see and smell us.
