Your gearbox was never fitted with lip seals & therefore does not have a casing with provision for fitting them.
Everything about your box is imperial i.e the prop shaft is 1/2 inch not 12mm,
More water tends to enter via the pinion bearings as they are rotating at 4 times the speed of the prop shaft. So the pinion bearings will have to have seals as well.
If you've really got to have seals it would be cheaper to buy an fnr gearbox & prop from a model 90, than getting the modification & machining done on your existing box.
Have a look in the parts book to see how it's done on the featherweight, model 75 & the FnR boxes & remember that yours is a 4 : 1 box not a 2 : 1, 2.5 : 1 or a 3.1 : 1 ratio, so none of the other parts will fit.
You could probably buy a new 2 hp 4 stroke Honda for the cost of these mods, so why would you bother!
