Bids coming in thick and fast.

Own up if you are bidding.

Perhaps we could have a little competition as to what the final price will be?

I think that this may be a rare item and the final price will be in the £80.00 region. but I may be wrong. ( I have no financial interest in this item).

OK OK I own up. I am as at this time - or at least a few minutes ago - the winning bidder.

I don't think I'll be going much further as I already have one of these, they are not rare.

British Seagull made three or four versions of this stand, intended as display stands for dealers' showrooms. They were made from the fifties on, with the cast alloy components available in two sizes.

They are a bit too fragile for use as a test stand, or to work on the motor.

I would be suprised if it got further than £30.00, but I am accustomed to being suprised by Seagull related items on the Bay!

Charles P is right on this,
I've got one that I paid £5.oo for, but it's only good for light display work, mine has a Mallard sitting on it.

It has 3 legs in a tripod format which means it's only good for the corner of the room as it occupies such a large footprint, relative to it's capacity.

You can tell is was assembled by Seagull the leg brackets are held on by 1/4 BSF crankcase studs with nuts from the same & plated penny washers.

Probably best for the 40 series motors a 102 + might cause it's early demise.

Pleased to see the picture as I have the leg fittings for one, but no idea what it looked like. I recall seeing motors on them, but not clearly....

Can I ask you to run a tape over it for me so I can select a suitable size wooden/ply board!

Regards,
John

It's me I am currently winning

At least I was at midnight, not prepared to go much further, 30 quid seems about right :!:
