AMAL Carburettor Cowls

Post by Dave-H »

Quick question; How many different aluminium AMAL 416 carburettor cowls are there?
My 102 AC 1947 has just the word SEAGULL cast into it and I have another mid 60s with SEAGULL plus Patent on it, then a late 70s one with name, SEAGULL and the Don't flood instructions etc. (I'm aware of the ones with no writing on them available via Sheridan) Are there any other ones with other writing on them?

I think you'll find the Amal 416 carb, came into production use by British Seagull in the late 1980's.

So if you've got an AC with a 416 it's probably a repair, & if I remember right 416's were only fitted with the plastic choke shroud.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
