Brittania part and question

Post by Collector Inspector »

The part to make this old dear one complete motor is the clip that holds the exhaust bypass rotor. Got one?

The question is what is the correct original depth of the fuel tank and what colours were they?

The depth of a standard tank is 4 inches (apparently they did a long range tank which was a lot deeper)

Sorry, but I don't have a spare retaining clip.

Attached is an early example with original paint and decal - paint may be faded as I've seen slightly later models in a darker blue

Heres a photo of my early BMB. The clip could be easily made from a piece of spring steel strip or similar. Do you want the actual dimensions? I also have a later BMB with the smooth exhaust casting and villiers magneto, but I suspect that part is different.

I have ordered some spring steel...a bit fiddly to make profiles but I have done it before.

Your tank is green?

That is what I remember as a child. Mine was green. I am sure of that....I think.

Could you please post some pics top back and sides for me?
