Interesting observation - as soon as the Japanese entered the market in the early seventies, the Seagull sales dived to zero within a couple of years
Very similar to what happened to cars and bikes also

Seagulls sales were still strong in the 1970s, and they actually kept going with declining sales until the 1990s.

Seagull had their record month in the early 70's over 7000 produced, no one seems the remember the actual year & month but 3 or 4 members of staff from that period have told me similar figures, over the last 20 years.

I think they shut the doors in 1994!
