I have been discussing with John Williams of the possibility of re manufacturing & him stocking latch kits ( latch, 3 split pins & 175mm of brass chandelier chain).

Thank to Hugo's excellent work there seem to be 3 types of latch levers, small & large bird beaks & the wedgie. I've only been able to study examples of both of the bird beaks, which were stamped from 8 gauge brass sheet, not something we could do as the punch tooling for each would cost approaching £500 even at mates rates.
That would only leave laser cutting or water jetting providing that they already have suitable material in stock, 8 gauge or 4mm brass sheet, even then we could hit the "minimum order value" stumbling block.

We can't expect John to put 20 kit's on the shelf at a cost of £10 each, only to sell 2 in the first year, so an indication of how many are required this week, would decide whether this would be feasible!

For us enterprising folk the hollow g'clamp's side faces are within cooee of the correct size. Angle grinder and a few minutes. I don't need any.... thanks. Be good if you can recollect location of chain shop Nudge

Here's a picture of the 3 examples I have, the one in the chromed thrust block, taken from a fully chromed skeletal bracket is quite interesting, the chrome is not in the best condition & some has peeled off leaving good copper behind, we never found out exactly why some odd examples were chromed, our assumption was that these might be display models for a dealers shop or window display.
It has a different latch lever shape from the other examples that I've seen & is different to the wedgey, it is brass riveted in place prior to chroming & has a hole in the tip that seems to serve no useful purpose whatsoever, strange.

The other 2 are a small & a large bird's beak.

I think you will find the latches on the skeletal are different again to the later std thrust blocks. Note the rivet and chain securing position.

That accounts for the hole in the tip & no provision in the bracket side for a chain fixing point!

If I had somewhere to install the beast I would definitely be interested. But I don't. Anyhow I expect the price may rise sharply above the 32 quid-sh current bid.
