Hi all, " Happy New Year,"
Can anybody give me any advise on removing a gearbox bush from an Anzani Pilot gearbox
it has a 1/2" bore and is rather worn to say the least
I am hoping to replace the bearing with an off the shelf item
as I have only limited workshop facilities,
Or maybe somebody out there may have a spare gearbox that I can purchase
Hope you can help

Re: Gearbox Bush Removal
Is that a blind hole? If so the bush will have been tapped in without thinking about having to change it at some point
You could try heating the area around the bush to see if it will shift? I'd perhaps be thinking about carefully cutting the bush and then breaking it uo in-situ carefully. Fiddly and takes time but can be done. A new bush can then be made. I know somebody who could do that for you at a nominal charge.

Re: Gearbox Bush Removal
Hi Oyster 49,
Many thanks for your reply regarding Anzani gearbox bush removal
I have managed to remove the same using a 14mm tap which was screwed into
the end of the bush (Just about one thread) I then heated the casing popped the
tap end into the vice and gently tapped the casing off the bearing
I would be very interested if somebody could make me a new bearing maybe 2
as I now have 3 of these little critters
Thanks again
Ken.

Ken,
If you have the old bearing and a drawing I'll have a word with a friend to see if he can help.
