Hoy All,
I am seeking a tank cap in Surrey, B.C. Canada.
Last week we were tripping around, using our 60's vintage silver century heavily to push our eighteen foot double ender around the Gulf Islands.
The tank ran empty. I spun off the cap and it fell to the bottom of the sea. Evidently the retention clip had rattled off. We're going tripping again this week, but don't yet have a cap! Can anyone help!?

I'm short of fuel caps myself, have lots of gear oil but the shipping is more than the oil is worth.
You can use the regular 80/90 wt. oil, it will just leak out faster, put something under the gearbox and catch it then use it to refill. Some of my Seagulls leak badly some do not seem to leak at all, they are all 1977 or earlier so they do not have much of a seal.
Seagull recommended using 30 wt. motor oil for running in water near freezing.
There are some guys in the Vancouver and Van. island areas that would likely help you out as they have Seagulls as well.
They post quite frequently on AOMCI

There is a guy in the Van.,B.C. Area that may have a line on the gearbox oil, he posts on here as Mutineer.

Thanks for suggestions! I was able to borrow one from Dave at Alder Bay Boat Company.
