Kingfisher to mod 90 check?
Silly question ...... can I fit a kingfisher gearbox / prop to a silver century (mod 90/110) and if so what would be the gearing / prop effect?

So the rather larger / different prop / bigger spring arrangement is fine then? Eight blade waterpump rotor also fine or should I revert to the mod 90 version 4 blade?

I would go with the QB upgrade impeller, I use one in my century race engine.Arbian wrote:Eight blade waterpump rotor also fine or should I revert to the mod 90 version 4 blade?

Re: Kingfisher to mod 90 check?
You might find that your century has difficulty turning the QB prop, a prop that was designed for a much more powerfull motor
& that is 9.38" diameter with 11" pitch, that assuming zero slip should give a speed of 9.1 knots at 1000 Prop RPM.
If your going to use the QB water pump impeller, then use the Kingfisher water pump housing, as there are no more QB impellers available & if you turn it down to fit the model 90 pump housing, it won't work well in your Kingfisher.

Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.
Re: Kingfisher to mod 90 check?
Thanks Charles, I thought it might struggle but I am interested to give it a go. I am putting it together from bits which I am not entirely sure match. The pump housing which I assume to be from a Kingfisher looks identical to one I have which I know is definitely off a mod 90. I wanted to take the kingfisher box apart to inspect as the prop shaft and clutch rod appear to be seized up but spring carrier strangely does not appear to have a retaining pin does this ring any bells? Thanks

Should have said the box and prop are the only kingfisher bits I have. If I had the business end I would have been keeping it together!
