Seagull Osprey OLR 14G2 for sale

I recently acquired a boat package (Orkney Strikeliner) which included a Seagull Osprey 5hp longshaft in what I consider good condition that had been the auxiliary engine.

The engine number is OLR 14G2 and it was purchased by the previous owner in 1993 from Severn Valley Cruisers Ltd. I have the sales invoice.

The previous owner lived in Birmingham when he bought it before moving a few years ago to the Isle of Man. I believe the initial use was on fresh water. The previous owner hadn’t used the boat for a number of years before I bought it recently, but kept it all in good repair.

The Seagull had been kept in his garage and I believe hasn’t had a significant amount of use as a spare engine, and none in the past four to five years, but when we took it to our marine specialist it started on the second pull. It has not been run for more than a few minutes at a time since I bought it and not revved hard whilst running, nor have I attempted to take anything apart on it. I started looking into the model and found this site. After speaking to John I hear this model, with roller bearings, is of potential interest to the racing community.

This engine was a little too large to remain as an auxiliary on our boat so I am looking to move it on to a good home.

I’m looking for offers around £300 and may place it on eBay in a couple of weeks, but thought I’d give forum members a chance to express any interest first.
I am in the Isle of Man and getting it to the mainland UK isn’t cheap, but can be done by courier. However if someone can afford to wait I'm not in any rush to sell and it is stored in my garage. I’m fairly sure given a little time I could get it to the UK in the boot of a car when myself or a friend next travel over if the purchaser could agree to meet at Liverpool or Heysham/ NW England.
