Hello all..
My first post here so be gentle! I'm a newcomer to outboard engines, but know my way around two strokes.
I've started stripping a silver century (I think, WS----DD6 Amal carb), and having problems removing the domed gearbox cover. One of the screws came out no problem, the other was too siezed so I had to drill the head off it. However I am still unable to get the cover off! is it a case of a bit of heat and careful tapping, or am I missing something?

Re: Trouble removing gearbox cover
I normally knock the pin out of the bush on the prop shaft and remove the bush first, then tap the prop shaft, prop end, being careful not to damage of close up the prop spring slot.
That will pop off the cover.
That will pop off the cover.
