Mk 2 or Mk3 Wipac Ignition?

Post by Dictate »

I have the following forty-plus: FPC 1364 FF8.
I D'd on the engine identifier as 1978 with Mk2 ignition.
However, when checking the "ID Letters" section, it shows up as having Mk3.
Is there any visual way to establish which is fitted without having to remove the flywheel?

simple way look at the HT lead mk2 will have a small stainless plate holding the ht bakelite terminal in place .. the mk3 is electronic ignition and the HT lead will just dissappear through a hole under the base plate
