Forty Plus - Difficult to start

Post by fastjedi »

EFPC with Villiers carb

Fresh rebuild, everything is nice a clean.
- Turn the fuel on
- Open the choke
- Flood the carb
- Open the throttle
It just wont start, no matter how many pulls / carb floods etc.

A quick squirt of fuel into the air intake into the crankcase
- One pull and it starts and runs perfectly
- And then it will start first time, everytime ..... until the next time!

Any suggestions?

I think you need to strip your carburettor again and check for blockages in the centerpiece......maybe or is the centerpiece in wrong so that the start jet is obscured?
When you say open the choke don't you mean close the choke for starting?
Cheers Rolf.
