piston rings 102 vs Centurys

Post by water bug »

Was there any difference in the Seagull recommended rings for the 102 models, and the Centurys? I have two sets of new rings differing in the radial thickness or depth. The thicker ones are much harder to compress. I am re ringing a 1955 AC 102. Any thoughts? Also recommended end gap?

For further information, I measured my 102 piston and found .085" groove depth. On two Century pistons the depth is .090 and .095. SO the .090 thick rings will not work in the 102. and are marginal in the century's. Naybody have more experience? Charles?
