Every time I see one I buy them, it's a lot easier than fitting new bearings & reaming them & often far cheaper.
Make it idiot proof and someone will make a better idiot.

The SD on your crankcase is stamped, it's true, but it's stamped in the place where so many crankcases have the 'SD' moulded into them. Even if it appeared with all the numbers etc in the same place it's not an SD.

As the guys have said it's a later 102 with a new crankcase.

See this one looks as though the numbers are removed as the casting is well below the chrome driveshaft bracket whereas the one in question is flush and looks to be original finish.
Cheers Rolf.

So maybe late fifties?
Probably makes it hard to order parts if we don't have a number I guess.
Cheers Rolf.

You won't have any difficulty with parts, from late forties to 1973 there weren't actually all that many changes.

Apart from the magneto, that is.
