Quicksilver Premium - Equivalent to EP90 Gearbox Oil ?

Post by slugwash »

Hi all,

I've decided (been told!) that it's time to change the gearbox oil in my 1990's Forty Plus.
I've already got an unopened tube of Quicksilver Premium Marine gearbox oil lying around in my shed but I can't find the oil weight on the tube nor on the internet.

However, an internet search did suggest that it was equilvalent to EP90. Is this right and can I use it safely in my Seagull?

Thanks in advance,

Richard.

Its 80w/90

Its what most other outboards use in their gearcases. I beleive it is also suitable for a 1990s 40+
