7/8 inch Brass Tiller Arm Tube

Post by Charles uk »

I need to refurb a couple of my brass tiller arms & have found a source for the correct brass tubing, but it's only available in 12 foot lengths & that's way more than I require, so if anybody needs some, let me know. I will supply it cut to size for 50p an inch plus postage.

So if you PM me to let me know how long & how many I will order the right number of lengths after Easter.

Just realised I don't know how sterling works these days. I immediately thought that 50p is 4 shillings and tuppence. You guys have gone decimal recently I believe.

That's one way to show your age.
1971 I think it all changed, still in shorts back then  and still remember having to get a ten-bob bit for the meter.

Nobody told me!

That's handy, I've still get plenty of old coinage.

Do you still have Guinea's over there? Reminds me of a tweed jacket and a pipe. Be a shame if it has gone.... :D

As coinage (17th-19th century gold coin) it's long gone - but even now if you want to buy a race horse or a ram - you'll still be billed in guineas: being 21 shillings, or £1.05p in the 'new' money.

Lets start trading seagulls and parts in Guineas.....adds a bit of class to the transaction. 2 inch of pipe for a guinea then.
